Reservations & Payments

Because we are a small establishment, we cannot hold rooms without payment. Reservations are established by making a 50% payment by credit card in the reservation system at the time of reservation with the remainder being processed on your credit card on file one (1) week in advance of your stay. A paid receipt will be emailed to you on both occasions. Checks and cash are accepted only with prior arrangements by calling (608) 437-4427. 

***Reservation requests made less than 48 hours in advance of the stay, must be confirmed by telephone or cannot be considered accepted. Thank you for your consideration.***


Because Sunniva Inn is a small, independent Inn, cancellations affect us significantly. Your prepayment, less a fee of 15% is refundable if notification of cancellation is given at least 20 days in advance of your arrival date. If your cancellation if made less than 20 days but more than 48 hours in advance of your arrival date, you may rebook your stay, subject to availability, for another date within one year of your original planned stay. Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice, no shows, and early check outs will be charged in full for all nights of your reservation.

Check-In & Check-Out

Normal check-in is from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. or by prior arrangement. Check-out by 11:00 AM. An overstay charge of $30 per hour applies for each or partial hour past 11:00 am without the approval of the owner.

Room Occupancy

Maximum occupancy is two (2) people per room for the Garden room and Martin Room, and four (4) people per room for the Stewart Lake Suite. Friends may visit you at Sunniva Inn, but we ask that all friends leave by 8:00 p.m. for the comfort and convenience of other room guests. We also ask that you limit friends to no more than two unless prior arrangements have been made with the owners.

We do accept children, as long as they are over the age of 10 years old.

Group Reservations &
Longer-Term Stays

Call for policies regarding groups renting the whole house or stays of longer than five nights. Discounts may apply.


We have worked hard to make Sunniva Inn an inviting, comfortable historic home, and we understand normal wear and tear. However, you are responsible for damage you cause to the property. Damages you cause will be charged to your credit card and/or subject to all other legal collection procedures.
